Summary of Project
Stage 2 of WestConnex – The New M5 – will link to the upgraded King Georges Road Interchange on the existing M5 East Motorway at Beverly Hills and run via twin tunnels to St Peters. The New M5 tunnels will more than double the capacity of the M5 East corridor, improving travel times and reliability for the 100,000 motorists that use this key route every day. The project includes the following key features: around nine kilometres of new motorway tunnels; widening and realigning the existing M5 East Motorway east of King Georges Road; a new interchange at St Peters; two new road bridges across Alexandra Canal; enhanced and upgraded local streets near St Peters Interchange; and around 14 kilometres of new and upgraded shared, pedestrian and cycle paths, including new bridges across Alexandra Canal and Campbell Road, St Peters.
Summary of Involvement
Dreise Tucker ATOL Pty Ltd was provided temporary works engineering design services which included geotechnical, civil, structural, pavement, hydraulic and electrical engineering discipline services for the design of elements such as pads, various structure types, falsework/ formwork, flexible and rigid pavements, lighting reticulation, roads, earthworks and drainage. Our team also provided integrated project engineering services to scope the temporary works engineering scope for the project at project start-up.
