Summary of Project
West Street Channel and Goggs Street Package 41 project was funded by Toowoomba Regional Council’s Flood Recovery Program. The project formed part of Council’s Gowrie Creek Catchment Management Strategy which involved a series of flood mitigation works upstream from the Toowoomba CBD. The works completed provide flood mitigation to the adjoining community for up to a 1 in 100 year storm event.
Summary of Involvement
Dreise Tucker ATOL Pty Ltd carried out the concept and detailed design of temporary batters to enable for the safe construction of a large culvert and trench shoring detailed design for stormwater pipelines in the existing road. The design work included geotechnical, civil and structural engineering services.

Our team provided a solution that enabled CMC to stabilise batters of poor material whilst maintaining the integrity of the structures on top of the batter. This allowed for safe access to construct the permanent culvert.
